Discovery

A social enterprise, Discovery is the result of a groundbreaking partnership between Dimensions and Somerset County Council.

We support hundreds of adults with learning disabilities and autism across Somerset to live ordinary, fulfilling lives as active members of their local community. Many of the people we support have complex needs and a history of distressed (so-called ‘challenging’) behaviour. Working to our values, Discovery’s colleagues keep each person they support at the heart of everything we do – involving family and friends at all stages of their support plan.

Discovery operates CQC registered care homes across the county including some respite/short breaks services. And in many areas we also provide outreach, domiciliary, supported living and supported employment.

Discovery is a wholly controlled subsidiary of Dimensions, with a local Board. Both organisations are not-for-profit and over half of any surplus Discovery makes is returned direct to projects within the local community in Somerset.
