The Coronavirus Learning Disability and Autism Leaders’ List

The global coronavirus pandemic has affected everyone’s lives and people with learning disabilities and/or autism are among those whose routine and support has changed.

Our annual Learning Disability and Autism Leaders’ List celebrates people who are making things better for themselves or others. A lot of the entries to this year’s Leaders’ List were about the pandemic.

To recognise this, we are running a special Coronavirus Learning Disability and Autism Leaders’ List this year.

We want to celebrate the amazing things people with learning disabilities and/or autism are doing to help themselves or others during this historic time. We also want to share positive stories, to help make people feel good during this challenging time.

The Learning Disability and Autism Leaders’ List will return in 2021.

Sign up to the Leaders’ List newsletter and follow @DimensionsUK and #CovidLeadersList on social media to stay up to date.

About our celebrity ambassador and judge, Liam Bairstow

Liam originally recorded this video for the Learning Disability and Autism Leaders’ List but he has kindly agreed to support and judge the Coronavirus Learning Disability and Autism Leaders’ List:

“The coronavirus pandemic has impacted lives of everyone in ways that, only a few months ago, would be difficult to imagine. For many people with learning disabilities and autism, the pandemic has been a period of anxiety and uncertainty, as our daily routines changed beyond recognition.

“And yet, it has also been a time of people persevering, coming together and looking after each other. It’s wonderful that Dimensions’ special Coronavirus Leaders’ List celebrates those stories of everyday strength and resilience in this extraordinary time.

“I’ve been inspired by of everyone who made it onto this historic List, and I look forward to following each person’s journey. I hope that very soon we will all be able to be in one place t celebrate their stories and achievements together.”
