Dimensions Cymru Locality Manager, Rachel, honoured as a heroine of social care

Rachel Follard, a locality manager for Dimensions Cymru, has been nominated for a Wales Care Award due to her impactful work in palliative care.

Drawing from her own family experiences, Rachel has dedicated herself to ensuring that the people she supports Cardiff area receive compassionate end-of-life care, often in the comfort of their homes.

Her nomination highlights her leadership in providing quality care, particularly in assisting a woman with Down’s Syndrome through significant life transitions, including a hospital stay and eventual passing at home surrounded by loved ones. Rachel’s approach prioritises dignity and comfort for her clients, and she finds fulfilment in her work.

The Wales Care Awards, scheduled for October 18, aim to recognize exceptional contributions in the care sector, with an emphasis on the vital roles played by individuals in caregiving.
