Our Poo and You campaign
Many people suffer with constipation, and over half of people with learning disabilities suffer from constipation. This is why the Dimensions Council launched our ‘Poo and You’ campaign. They want you to know it’s ok to talk about poo!
The Poo and You campaign brings together resources and information about constipation, what to look out for and how to prevent and treat it.
We believe prevention is better than needing to have treatment, and with the right diet and lifestyle we can help stop people with learning disabilities dying from the usually minor health complaint that is blocked bowels.
"The Dimensions Council think that it is wrong for anyone to die from constipation and we want people to feel ok to talk about it."
Did you know…
- Almost everyone will experience constipation at some point in their life
- 30% of the general population are affected at one point in time (that’s millions of people right this second!)
- People with learning disabilities have an increased risk with up to 50% of people affected.
If so many people can get it, why are we so embarrassed?
