Supporting people to communicate is very important so they get the most out of health appointments and get their health needs met.

Here are some things you can do to help you communicate with someone with a learning disability or autism.

2. Do not use hard words that people will not be able to understand.

3. Use different communication aids for anyone who does not use words to communicate.

4. Work with support workers and carers who know the person best.

5. Be patient and think of new ways of doing things.
