Love Your Vote – making politics accessible
Love Your Vote is a campaign run by Dimensions support people with learning disabilities and autism understand and exercise their right to vote.
In the 2015 general election Barry, at age 68, voted for the first time. He has severe learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, quadriplegia and communicates non-verbally. But, with support from his team and polling station staff he was able to vote.
Anybody with a learning disability has the right to vote. So long as they can communicate who they want to vote for someone complete the ballot paper on their behalf.
What is Love Your Vote?
Love Your Vote is a campaign to get people with learning disabilities and autism involved in politics and voting. We want everyone to have the chance to have their say on politics.
Love Your Vote provides you with the information you need to register to vote, vote on polling day and where to go to find more information.
