Art buddies Mark and Marcus
Mark has been volunteering with Dimensions as an arts and crafts buddy, at our Outreach 3Way day centre in Crawley, for over 18 months.
Mark was attracted to Outreach 3Way when he saw the opportunity to volunteer doing something he liked, which also suited his availability – He has been a dedicated volunteer every other Friday since June 2018!
“I enjoy getting involved in a variety of things and making a difference to the results. I also love chatting, getting to know and having fun with those supported and the staff.”
Mark is involved in a wide variety of volunteering activities. He has helped people to create personal items such as birthday cards, supported and encouraged people to produce pictures for exhibitions, and competitions such as the Mid-Sussex Mencap annual art competition.
Mark continues:
Mark has also volunteered elsewhere in Dimensions, including the Positive Behaviour Support festival and backstage for the Outreach 3Way Christmas talent show at the Hawth.
Marcus, who attends the Outreach 3Way day centre, including the arts and crafts sessions says:
“I like having Mark as a volunteer, because he teaches and helps me with my art work. I like having Mark spend time with me and having one-to-one support. Thank you very much Mark!”
