Dan the super Villan
We support many football fans and as more clubs become accessible, a trip to the game enjoyed by millions every week, is becoming a reality for those that we support. Step forward Aston Villa who opened their sensory room in 2019.
Dan is a super Villan, but not in the comic book sense, he’s a fan of Aston Villa! He recently enjoyed a trip to Villa Park to watch his beloved team take on Newcastle United.
Arriving well before kick-off Dan had plenty of time to tour the stadium and the club shop before the crowds arrived. Having purchased a scarf Dan and his support popped out to StarCity, a local entertainment centre, for a cup of tea. When they returned the Group were allowed to park for free by the stewards. They were then escorted through a private entrance to the sensory room, where Dan eagerly awaited kick-off
The action kicked off shortly after 7pm, when the players began their warm up.
As games go this was one to remember! Villans were rewarded by goals in the 32nd and 36th minutes! Dan couldn’t stop smiling and laughing. His enjoyment was obvious as he soaked up the atmosphere, enjoying the flags.
At the final whistle the Aston Villa had held on to their 2-0 lead and the stadium roared in delight.
There was still plenty of time to experience the sensory room after the game. An even bigger treat awaited as player José Ignacio Peleteiro Ramallo (Jota, number 23) visited the group. José posed for photos with Dan and gave him a signed programme and teddy as a keepsake of his match experience.
Dan thoroughly enjoyed the day and is already planning his next visit!
