Disability Confident Leader status retained and awarded

We are delighted to have successfully retained our Disability Confident Leader accreditation (as it was up for renewal), now having group status that includes Discovery (who previously held the second status of Disability Confident Employer).

This comes after a robust assessment completed by the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (ENEI), with the Dimensions Group (including Discovery) now having this status for three years. The government-funded scheme encourages employers to actively recruit and retain disabled people and uses positive action to make sure any disabled applicant is invited for interview if they meet the essential criteria.

For Dimensions, this is the second time it has successfully retained the accreditation, whilst it is the first time Discovery has been recognised for its inclusive practices and in how we support colleagues with a disability. This is hugely important as only half of disabled people in the UK are employed; as we continue to be Disability Confident, we can tell and show people we have an inclusive culture.

In addition to making adjustments within the recruitment process, the award acknowledges the Group’s commitment to training colleagues on disability awareness, having a process to support colleagues to receive reasonable adjustments within their role, and working with suppliers to encourage them to become Disability Confident Employers.
