Short breaks service offers respite to all

Newton House is a short break and respite service for people with learning disabilities and autism. Our aim is to create a welcoming, homely and rewarding environment. Our priority is to keep your friend or relative safe, happy and well-supported.

We’ve been providing respite care to people in Bath and the surrounding area for almost 30 years and offer a bespoke service tailored to each person we support. Our person-centred approach means every guest will have their stay built around them, their needs and their wishes. Each guest has a support profile, so every member of our team knows exactly what they want from their stay and how we can support them to achieve this.

The short breaks service, one of five provided by Dimensions across the country, offers five welcoming bedrooms each with their own flat screen TV and DVD player, a stereo and lots of storage space. Two of our bedrooms have hoists and we have a through floor lift.

There is lots of space to relax and have quiet time, and for those who like to keep busy we have an activity room with games consoles, books, board games, DVDs and sensory lighting to make things comfortable. Guests also enjoy baking in the kitchen or venturing out into the historical city of Bath to visit local attractions.

Our team regularly liaise with families and other professionals to keep abreast of training to ensure a safe environment.
