The Council makes sure Dimensions knows about any worries or problems the people we support have. The Council can change things.
The Council uses the Social Care Charter to find out how well people are being supported. This is a list of things that makes sure people have choice and control over their lives.
The Council meets up five times a year and also once with the Dimensions board.
The Dimensions Board is a group of people who make important decisions about Dimensions. The Board checks that Dimensions is doing the things they should.
At least one person from the Dimensions Board goes to each Council meeting.
If you are supported by Dimensions you can join the Council. You will need to let people know that you will be a good listener and speak up for them.
You can also let people know you want to be a member at your local Everybody Counts group.
Everybody Counts meetings bring people together to talk about what is important to them and to talk about Dimensions.
Everybody Counts meetings happen in different parts of the country.
Ask your manager about joining your local group.
If you join the council, you can stay on until people get another chance to say they want to be a member. This usually happens after two years.
