About the Leaders' List

The Learning Disability and Autism Leaders’ List awards is an annual list featuring a variety of inspiring stories about an even wider variety of autistic people and people with learning disabilities who are taking a lead in their lives and making things better for themselves and others.

Winners have been featured in national newspapers, on national radio and their stories seen by thousands of people online. This year, we’re also hosting a special awards ceremony in London, with celebrity host DJ Ken Bruce.

Did you know…

• Anybody with a learning disability or autistic person can enter or be nominated.
• No formal diagnosis is needed; self-diagnosis is valid.
• It’s open to anybody, not just people receiving support.
• Everybody gets a certificate for entering.
• Finalists get another certificate.
• Winners get invited to the awards ceremony.
• The awards ceremony is free to attend – you don’t need to pay for a seat!
• This year the awards are being held at the O2 Arena Cineworld and hosted by DJ and presenter Ken Bruce.

Here’s what you need to know:

Since the first Leaders’ List in 2018, winners have been featured on BBC Radio 2, Channel 5 News and in The Guardian, and everybody who enters receives a personalised certificate.

Winners receive a celebration pack and their stories are published for our tens of thousands of social media followers and website visitors to read. All winners are invited to a special celebration event and are given opportunities to get involved with our national campaigns.
