My GP has taken the time to find out about Pathological Demand Avoidance as part of his CPD in order to understand and support our family with two PDA children better. He takes the time to listen and understand and has done his best to support us.
My son gets a well man check every year. He has 3/4 of an hour with the nurse then sees the doctor. I go in with him for the doctor. Luckily he is very healthy but they give him a thorough check and ask him loads of questions re. his abilities, activities etc., which gets him to open up and discuss any worries he has, if he has any and I make a discreet exit as he is 32 now and likes his privacy. I have health problems and see the staff on a regular basis and they always ask how he is which is lovely.
